RISCO Group’s Grade 3 detectors exceed PD6662 and EN50131-1 requirements

Grade 3 detectors use Active IR technology for Anti-Mask

October 18th, 2006 - RISCO Group, a leading provider of comprehensive security solutions, is continuing to expand and enhance its Grade 3 detector line for UK and European markets. From October of 2006, all detectors installed in PD6662 Grade 3 installations within the UK are required to meet the technical detector performance standards of TS50131-2-2 for PIR detectors and TS50131-2-4 for combined microwave and PIR detectors, as laid out in form 185 of the BSIA.  The main additional requirements of TS50131-2-x, over the EN50131-1 system standards that were sufficient for PD6662 Grade 3 installations prior to October of this year, are wall tamper and anti-mask performance.

RISCO Group’s Grade 3 detectors have been meeting TS50131-2-x since inception in 2005, with inclusion of wall tamper and with the use of Active IR technology for higher immunity to false masking alarms and enhanced security. Many dual-technology detectors on the market use the microwave channel for anti-mask, which is less reliable and may cause false masking alarms.

RISCO Group detectors that comply with the technical standards are iWISE GreenLine DT AM & iWISE QUAD AM for wall mount installations, and LuNAR GreenLine DT AM which is the only Grade 3 ceiling mount detector available to date.

RISCO Group’s Grade 3 detectors exceed PD6662 Grade 3 requirements with features such as built-in triple EOL resistors for easy installation, GreenLine Technology – for switching off the microwave to eliminate radiation when the premises are occupied during unset mode - and Anti-Cloak™ Technology for detecting cloaked burglars.
